Crandall University Seeking Men's Head Coach

HEAD COACH, MEN’S BASKETBALL

The Crandall University Athletics Department is seeking a Head Coach to lead the Chargers men’s basketball program, reporting to the Director of Athletics & Recreation.

This is a part-time contract position.

Main Responsibilities
• Developing a yearly plan, which will include the technical, psychological, physical and strategic aspects of a college level basketball program.
• Develop practice plans which align with the yearly plan.
• Commitment to continuing coaching education.
• Adhere to budgets and assist in budget planning.
• Hiring assistant coaches.
• Adherence to, and support of, the CCAA, ACAA and Crandall University policies and procedures.
• Recruiting, including developing and maintaining an active recruiting plan for current and future needs.
• Supervision of all student athletes on Crandall-related travel and adherence to the Chargers Code of Conduct for as long as they are a part of the program.
• Contribute to the promotion and development of basketball in the greater Moncton area and surrounding communities of southern New Brunswick.
• Coordinate Chargers Summer Camps, working with the women’s head basketball coach.
• Coordinate and collaborate with fundraising activities specific to the program as well as the department.
• Establish and maintain an effective communication system with athletics administration, facility staff, faculty, fellow coaches and student athletes.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills
• NCCP Level II Certification, or in process.
• Athletics, leadership, coaching, and administrative experience, preferably in a High-Performance setting.
• Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, administration, program planning, leadership and motivation skills, relational strengths, budget competence, and others.
• Possess the highest standards of personal integrity, a strong work ethic and an optimistic outlook.
