BNB Announces Phase 3 of Return to Basketball Plan - Effective August 3, 2020

2020-07-30

Basketball New Brunswick is pleased announce entry into Phase 3 of their Return to Basketball Operational Plan.

With the transition to BNB’s Phase 3 Return to Basketball Guidelines, modified small sided games will be permitted to take place in a training setting. That means that within a training group of 15 people or less, players can now do any kind of competitive drill up to and including 3 on 3 with each other, as long as they implement the following rule modifications: No offensive rebounding and no screening actions, both of which are attempts to lower the number and intensity of close contacts as mandated by the province of New Brunswick.

Sharing of Equipment and Guided Defense are both still permitted in Phase 3.

Additional changes to BNB's Return to Basketball Plan are in bold font below:

-Attendance must be kept for a minimum of three weeks.

-The province of New Brunswick has not cleared us to resume playing or training without modification to lower the number and intensity of close contacts. We ask that all members refrain from travelling to other provinces to compete or train at this time. Any players who have already competed under another province’s rules are asked to isolate from their training groups for two weeks from that date to help prevent the potential spread to their training groups.
