Next Wave Program Ready to Make a Splash

The Next Wave Development Program is back!

The Next Wave Development Program is part of the introductory Phase 1 of BNB's High Performance Pathway. This initiative by Basketball New Brunswick is designed to help teach players and coaches the fundamental skills, movements and concepts that will set them up to enjoy and compete in basketball as they grow older. After running a very succesful Kickoff event in September 2019, the spring 2020 sessions were unfortunately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. 

Now that we are safely able to return to the court, the 2020-2021 program is ready to make a splash! We are working towards offering Kickoff weekend events in areas where facility access is available. The fall kickoff events will include 6 hours of on-court instruction and also tie in coaching development opportunities as well.

The program will expand in the spring to four 90 minute athlete & coach development sessions in 5 regions across the province. Athletes born in 2009 and coaches who work with U12 aged athletes will work from a common curriculum developed by our Technical Director, Neil Smith, and other high performance coaches.
