2022 Provincial Teams - Call for Coaches

BNB is seeking coaching applications for our 2022 Provincial Team season - including 18U Canada Games, as well as our 17U and 15U teams attending national championships in August 2022.



18U Canada Summer Games – Niagara, ON (August 6-13)
17U/15U Provincial Teams – Quebec (W)/Alberta (M) (August 1-6)
 
Basketball New Brunswick is now accepting coaching applications for the 2022 Canada Summer Games (18U), as well as the 17U and 15U male and female teams attending national championships next August.
 
Eligibility Requirements:
18U Canada Summer Games:
  • All coaching staff must be fully NCCP Train to Compete certified by no later than 180 days prior to the opening ceremonies (by Feb 7, 2022).
  • Female Team – 2 coaches and 1 manager:
    • At least one of the coaches must be female. If the head coach is male, the manager must also be female.
  • Male Team – 2 coaches and 1 manager:
    • At least one of the coaches must be male.

  • A minimum of one member of each coaching staff (this does not include managers and trainers) is of the same gender of the team they are coaching.
  • If the head coach (of a female team) is a male, the assistant coach and manager must be female.
  • For a female team, one of two head coaches (15U or 17U) in any given year must be a female.
The Successful Coach must be:
  • Knowledgeable and practicing the principals of Canadian Sport for Life and LTAD.
  • Have strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Connected with the current basketball environment in New Brunswick.
  • Available to participate in talent identification sessions and BNB’s Senior Elite Development Program in March-May 2022.
  • Willing to work with BNB to select a coaching staff which will maximize not only team potential but assist players in developing skills to achieve personal goals on/off the court.
 
Application Process:
Interested candidates are asked to COMPLETE THIS ONLINE FORM, as well as submit a cover letter, resume and a personalized “Strategic Team Plan” by the deadline of Friday, November 26th, 2021.  The “Strategic Team Plan” may include, but is not limited to, items such as: short/long term goals, potential training and competition schedule/locations, budget acceptance and implications, individual weekly training plans, targeted athlete/team selection philosophy, skill development strategies, practice/competition ratio and LTAD alignment.
