How Basketball New Brunswick, and their member clubs, are Elevating Youth Basketball with the Jr. NBA/WNBA Program

Our former Executive Director, Tyler Slipp, caught up with Canada Basketball to discuss the Jr. NBA/WNBA program and the success Basketball New Brunswick has had across the province with adopting the program.

Jr. NBA/WNBA is Canada’s national youth basketball program designed to develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and a love for the game of basketball. Canada Basketball and NBA Canada have partnered up to create this grassroots initiative to empower community basketball groups, facilities, and clubs across Canada in an effort to positively influence youth through the sport of basketball.

Tyler talked about how Jr. NBA/WNBA can support coaches with varying level of basketball experience that ultimately want to enhance basketball participation in their communities; can increase participation in age appropriate formats; and reduce some of the organizational pieces as Canada Basketball provides all the equipment necessary for the program to run. Tyler expressed how Jr. NBA/WNBA has been so successful for New Brunswick and can be across the country as well.
