Registration Opens: May 13 at 12pm
Summerfest returns again for 2025! Last year's tournament featured almost 80 teams playing in 8 different gyms with teams from Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
Spots in the tournament fill up quickly so be sure to register early! Due to the constraints on gym time and officials' availability, special requests for scheduling are not likely to be accepted. The organizing committee will attempt to consider travel, but registered teams should be prepared to play from Friday at 12pm to Sunday at 5pm
Similar to previous years we plan to have the following divisions:

Men's & Women's Open Division (U17+): This is our showcase division open to all provincial teams competing in the 2024 17U National Championships, University/College teams, AAU teams and strong U17+ club teams.

Men's & Women's Competitive Division (U15 & U16): Teams in this division will compete against BNB’s 15U & 16U provincial teams. One side of the draw will be for provincial teams and highly competitive club teams (up to U17 age), and the other side for smaller clubs or communities.

Men's & Women's Development Division (U13 & U14): This division is mainly for U13 & U14 teams but some developmental U15 teams may be considered. Club teams may also be considered for this division.
Please note that the divisions are a guide - the goal of the tournament is to provide appropriate competition for all teams involved - stronger or more developmental teams may be placed outside of the age ranges listed above.

Gym Locations
UNB Currie Center Performance Gym (2 courts on the 4th floor) - Parking available on ground level
UNB Currie Center Recreation Gym (2 courts on the 1st floor) - Parking available on ground level
UNB Lady Beaverbrook Gym (1 court) - Parking available outside of gym
Fredericton High School (1 court) - Gym entrance at leftmost side of the building facing the parking lot
Connaught St School (1 court) - Gym entrance is through the side parking lot & playground.
Bliss Carman Middle School (1 court) - Parking available outside of gym
Gibson Neil School (1 Court) - parking available outside of the gym
Gyms will be open 30 mins before game start times
Tournament Merchandise
Summerfest T-shirts and BNB gear will be sold at UNB's Currie Center Performance Court during the weekend.
Rules
- 4x10 minute quarters, 1 minute between quarters, 5 minute half time, warmup time is however much time from the previous game until your game with a minimum of 5 minutes.
- Overtime is 5 minutes for the first one, 3 minutes for any additional ones.
- We are not using actual shot clocks this weekend, however referees will count down from 10 if teams are obviously stalling or in the last two minutes if the game is within 10 points. Open and Competitive divisions are based on 24 seconds, Development division is based on 30 seconds.
- Ball size - all men's divisions are using size 7, all women's divisions use size 6.
- No zones of any kind are permitted in the Development divisions.
- Teams are responsible for their own warm-up balls.
- Be kind to the officials and score keepers please!
Awards
Championship T-Shirts will be given to the winning team of each division (based on 12-15 per team).
Minor Officals
If you are interested in helping out with the event as a minor official (scorekeeper), please fill out the google form below or email coordinator@basketball.nb.ca. We will be paying $15 per game for minor officials. Without dedicated helpers, we cannot make events like this happen. When we are closer to the event we will contact you to confirm a schedule.
